This table lamp was created from an old terracotta vessel from China’s Shandong province. Originally, it was used to store water or oil.
Over many decades, the vessel developed an exceptionally dark, anthracite-coloured surface, rarely found in this region. The patina appears dense and even, with fine mineral textures that become especially visible in close detail. The form is compact and clear, without decorative emphasis.
The object is completed with a handcrafted lampshade made from high-quality Belgian linen. In this combination, the conical shape is unusual and shapes the character of the lamp.
